I am thankful for peanut butter,

big slices of cheese

and for the many things

on which I get to pee

I am thankful for tennis balls

and plushy toys to shred,

bags of fresh kibble

and my brand new bed

I am thankful for neighborhood

dogs to terrorize

from my big bay window

as they're walking by

I am thankful for scratches

behind my velvet ears

and that at six every night

dinner magically appears

I am thankful for my human

who meets my every need

but let's be real -

mostly, I'm thankful for cheese
